A new warehouse that has been opened by a partnership between the Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN), Primus Real Estate Services, and Lindemuth Realty of San Marcos will help flood victims furnish their homes, Fox 7 News reports.
The 40,000 square foot warehouse will start accepting donations beginning tomorrow at its location at 110 W. Martin Luther King Drive at the corner of South Guadalupe and W. MLK Drive. They will be open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 6pm.
Donations most needed include new mattresses and pillows in plastic wrapping (no used mattress will be accepted), new bedding and comforters, and gently used furniture like couches, love seats, tables and chairs, dressers, tv stands, end tables and lamps.
They will also accept the following items in good working condition: microwaves, toaster ovens, toasters, mixers, and other small kitchen appliances. Finally, they need new plates, cups, and silverware.
Volunteers are needed to work there. You can sign up here. They also need volunteers to drive large trucks and move furniture.
Flood victims can schedule an appointment to get furniture by emailing email@example.com. You will have to provide address verification to show that your home was affected by the Memorial Weekend Floods.
