The newest development announced for the Seaholm Power Plant redevelopment will be the tallest building in Austin and the tallest residential building west of the Mississippi River, the Austin Business Journal reports. It will be called The Independent.
The 685 foot, 58 story condominium tower will be at the corner of West Third Street and West Avenue and is expected to cost $300 million. The 950,000 square foot building will have 491,000 square feet of sellable space and 13,500 square feet of retail on the first floor.
There will be 370 condos in the project. Units will range from 675 square feet for a one bedroom to 3,485 square feet for a 3 bedroom. Amenities will include a dog park and lounge, play areas for children, a pool, fitness rooms, a sky lounge and spa, plus many more.
The company has not yet revealed when the project will kick off or be completed.
