The Texas Department of Transportation is undertaking a $20.73 million construction project on Aquarena Springs Drive, Community Impact reports.
The project will create an overpass that will allow traffic to bypass the train tracks on Aquarena Springs near Bobcat Stadium. Construction is estimated to take 2.5 years.
The project is designed to improve safety and mobility and will also include a hike and bike trail on the north side of Aquarena Springs. Four-foot wide bike lanes will make the road much safer for cyclists as well.
No major road closures are expected and the project will have eight lanes for cars at its widest point.
